Duties / Expectations of Role

  • Serves as medical affairs member of the development and brand teams for company products
  • Accountable for the alignment of Global Medical Affairs activities with early development and/or launch readiness plans and objectives, including congress and publication strategy, and assisting with the public dissemination of information and data.
  • Coordinates and tracks the development of Congress abstracts, posters, and presentations, international symposia, and manuscripts
  • Supports coordination of interaction with opinion leaders to obtain feedback on strategy, publications, and proposals within the assigned products. This includes a basic knowledge or ability to learn the company HCP contracting process and manage/oversee the execution of Medical and/or Scientific Advisory Boards, from start to finish, when required
  • Supports and collaborates with affiliate regions, including Canada, Europe, Korea, and Japan, and the US
  • Supports creation and review of... internal and externally-facing marketing and medical materials and ensuring data is accurately communicated
  • Serves as a source of medical expertise on company clinical trials for in-house customers Supports the provision of medical, scientific, and technical information regarding assigned company products
  • Collaborates with the matrix teams on department review and input into clinical development and regulatory documents
  • Contributes to interdepartmental projects (as needed)

Knowledge/ This role requires:

  • An understanding of the drug development process, which includes a strong scientific background and knowledge of pre-clinical and clinical trial development
  • Experience in Medical Affairs and publication strategy including a solid statistical knowledge with a demonstrated ability to interpret study findings and communicate appropriately
  • A current awareness of new drug developments in targeted therapeutic areas.
  • Experience in nephrology is preferred, but not required

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret and present scientific information via written information and oral presentation
  • Must be capable of maintaining strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, including a proven ability to manage external vendors
  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in working with the Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Must be proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented, and practice good time management skills

Experience/Education

M.D. from a recognized school of medicine, Ph.D., or PharmD (+ 2 years experience) preferred. Will consider a Master’s Degree with significant relevant industry experience in a health- or science-related field; pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry experience in Medical Affairs. Publications/Scientific Communications, or Clinical Development; experience in nephrology would be a strong advantage

Travel

  • Up to 20-25% (primarily the US but may also minimally include ex-US )
