Who?

The right candidate will be focused on investigating fraud cases, excel at leading a team without direct management... authority, have extensive knowledge of Fraud Operations workflows, be able to design and execute process improvement projects, and have deep experience fighting fraud in all its various forms. You should be passionate about making a career out of fraud prevention. More specifically, we seek someone who has:

  • 3+ years of experience working cases in the compliance, fraud or abuse space, preferably within an eCommerce, Email, or Telecommunications organization
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to make quick decisions with limited data
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with MySQL, SQL, or other querying languages

As a domain expert, you should know the top fraud vectors and how fraud behavior will change as we make changes in our fraud prevention tools and our products. You will need to make data-driven decisions and closely collaborate with our data scientists, engineers, and product managers to improve our fraud prevention processes, systems, and tools.

Although not prerequisites for the role, the following are “nice-to-haves”:

  • A minimum of four years experience working in fraud prevention (also known as risk management or trust and safety) for a technology company
  • Basic understanding of and comfort with software development, including programming experience

As an Ops Lead in our Fraud Operations team, you will live the Twilio Magic values:

  • BE AN OWNER & EMPOWER OTHERS: Lead, but not manage, a team responsible for preventing fraud, supporting customers with fraud-related issues, managing risk, and overseeing certain payment-related operations (e.g., chargebacks). Enable an already high-performing team by providing excellent coaching and actionable feedback.
  • NO SHENANIGANS: Use Twilio’s tools and your own investigative powers to detect and prevent fraudulent activity, all while ensuring that we do not have false positives that negatively affect our legitimate customers.
  • DRAW THE OWL: Streamline our operations and improve customer experience by improving processes and automating.
  • BE BOLD: Collaborate with product managers and software engineers to design the tools and systems necessary to automate fraud detection and streamline our workflows. Influence stakeholders across the company to develop scalable solutions to prevent issues moving forward. Handle large escalations and make difficult decisions affecting our most critical customers.
  • RUTHLESSLY PRIORITIZE & DON’T SETTLE: Assist leadership with executing on near-term goals while also moving towards a long-term vision. Your team should be constantly delivering projects that will make our fraud defenses stronger and our team more effective.

This position will be located in our beautiful and well-designed office at Veerenni 38 in Tallinn, though considering the world’s current circumstances you will start from your home office.

Denver/Boulder Metro:

$68,096 - $93,632

Rest of Colorado:

$59,584 - $81,928
