The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR Director in supporting designated geographic regions in PR and USA. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

  • Implements initiatives in partnership with the HR Director in support of the department's strategic objectives.
  • Resolves complex issues related to the development and implementation of HR processes, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Provides information and orientation regarding Human Resources programs and policies.
  • Designs and coordinates compensation and reward systems, working in conjunction with the HR Director.
  • Performs job analyses/evaluations and prepares job descriptions involving... assigned areas.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Maintains company organization charts and the employee director by sites.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Provide assistance to Managers and to the HR Director during the performance management process and management resource review to ensure compliance with established practices.
  • Drive employee engagement by working with supervisors/ management and staff to develop and execute engagement strategies.
  • Measure and drive improvement of key HR metrics/scorecard by running HRIS reports, analyzing data, and providing recommendations to HR Director to enable strong business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Consult and coach employees and managers on employee relations matters including company policy interpretation, job performance and corrective action while providing solution-oriented recommendations and support. Investigates and recommends actions attendant to employee relations and HR policy incidents.
  • Consult and advise employees and managers on leave of absence and workplace accommodation matters.
  • Use your proven and proficient knowledge of FMLA, ADAAA, EEOC and multi-state compliance regulations to identify trends, provide recommendations, and develop action plans.
  • Provide support to the HR Coordinator in the preparation and presentation of employee new hire orientation and on-boarding materials; preparation and distribution of separation notices for voluntary and involuntary terminations and exit interviews for employees that voluntarily resign.
  • Assists in planning and coordinating HR special projects and events.
  • Work with HR Management to track and analyze incoming inquiries and investigations and recommend and develop consistent practices and action plans.
  • Promotes and advances teamwork and continuous process improvements to achieve business objectives.
  • Communicate and consult with management effectively, both in written and oral forms
  • Prioritize and manage conflicting demands and multiple projects at a time
  • Appropriately manage confidential information
  • May perform other duties as required.
  • *REQUIREMENTS (including educational):**
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of five years prior experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in a regulated industry environment is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience managing employee relations investigations is highly required.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office (including Word, Excel and Power Point), Internet browsers and Email Software.
  • Previous experience using HRIS Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems is highly preferred.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and establish strong interpersonal connections at all levels of the organization; treat others with respect; conduct business, internally and externally with professionalism and tact; and establish rapport and trust at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when managing sensitive employee
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Ability to independently analyze and interpret employee situations/solutions effectively
  • Must be able to handle high pressure and multiple-priorities with professionalism.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills (English and Spanish).
  • *Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
