The Recruiter is a collaborative team player who works closely with the Talent Acquisition team and internal and external customers/candidates to recruit top talent for HFT. The Recruiter will be responsible for recruiting retail management positions (Assistant Store Managers and Store Managers) and entry and experienced level roles for corporate and distribution centers. As a member of the Talent Acquisition team, you will be a brand ambassador to both candidates and Harbor Freight Tools associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the full cycle recruiting process, including screening, interviewing, reference/background checks, salary consults/negotiations and relocation (if applicable) for prospective management candidates for the targeted areas
  • Develop and execute staffing plans to ensure both internal and external pipeline of highly qualified candidates for multi-unit leadership in operations and HR
  • Conduct intake meetings with the Hiring Managers, understand... culture and team fit for each opening
  • Actively source candidates leveraging social media channels and creative sourcing techniques to attract talent and develop candidate engagement for current and future opportunities
  • Develop and effectively utilize a network of contacts/partnerships to build a pipeline of candidates for current and future openings
  • Maintain relationships and contact with candidates to encourage continued interest in opportunities with the HFT brand
  • Build and maintain relationships with Hiring Managers, department leaders and HR business partners
  • Ensure all appropriate candidate checks are completed including but not limited to background check and reference checks when applicable
  • Prepare recruiting reports and presentations to show progress and effectiveness of recruiting initiatives
  • Act as a company ambassador and advocate, with potential candidates and associates
  • Partner with others on employment campaigns, creative special event recruiting to meet business needs in acquiring talent
  • Drive continuous process improvements in a demanding and rapidly changing business environment
  • Participate in cross functional project on the Talent Acquisition, Human resources and HFT teams
  • Promote HFT as the employer of choice to all potential candidates by providing information regarding the company culture, benefits and opportunity
  • Other duties as business dictated

Requirements:

Job Qualifications - Education and Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
  • Authorized to work in United States
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in related field
  • Understanding of employment law and recruiting best practices
  • 2+ years recruiting and/or HR experience, preferably in the retail, restaurant or hospitality industry

Job Qualifications-Skill

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • Experience with various applicant tracking systems, preferred experience with Brassring
  • Proven success sourcing candidates using variety of methods (social recruiting, events, military, alumni databases, college partnerships and professional networks)
  • Ability to generate a high volume/high quality pipeline of candidates under tight timelines
  • Ability to manage a high volume recruiting workload, along with other priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and strong negotiation skills
  • Must have strong planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Professional presence, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined, able to work independently
  • Excellent listening and assessment skills
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
  • Ability to work with all professionals at different levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel

  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
  • Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
  • Lift up to 15lbs.
