About the Role: The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is looking for a versatile Data Scientist II to be based in Dallas, TX. As the Data Scientist II you will provide the department and the organization with support in analyzing and presenting data using statistical analysis, data visualization techniques and best practices. Additionally, as the Data Scientist II you will use tools such as statistical inference, decision trees and regression to provide us with prescriptive and predictive insights to promote data-driven decisions. You Will: Perform data analysis to produce reports, assessments and proposals to help organizational leaders make informed and data-driven decisions
Independently consult with partners and our functional experts to develop department dashboards/metrics
Develop queries, validate, and export data in several formats for department dashboards/metrics, automating the delivery
Maintain an up-to-date perspective of tools, practices, industry standards, national trends, and System standards
Research national best practices for data analytics to make recommendations for our district
Develop, analyzes and models operational, economic, management, accounting, and data
Recommend solutions to new and complex problems, develop new strategies, measure the competitive performance of our operations and markets, evaluates the potential impact of changes and reports on economic forecasts that affect the industry
Apply and integrate statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling and business analysis skills to manage and manipulate complex high-volume data from a variety of sources
Develop infrastructure systems that connect internal data sets; create new data collection frameworks for structured and unstructured data
You Have: Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, statistics, or other related field of study
1 or more years of professional experience in statistical data analyses
Experienced using common statistical and visualization software tools
Hands-on programming skills in Java, Python, or Scala or other scripting language
Experience with business intelligence tooling such as Tableau or Alteryx
SQL experience obtaining data from data sources
Microsoft Office suite, specifically MS Excel, experience required
Experience using Big Data tools such as Hadoop and Spark
Experience implementing or working with Data and Advanced Analytics solutions, and SaaS or related experience in the Cloud
Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum
Excellent time management skills including multi-tasking, managing deadlines
Knowledge of foundational data warehousing concepts, including structured and unstructured data
Excellent written, verbal and listening skills to effectively communicate with staff at all organizational levels
Ability to maintain trust and integrity when working with confidential situations and information
Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements
