Job Summary
Reading Horizons, an education company teaching the science of reading, is seeking educators who are enthusiastic about and experienced in supporting high-quality reading and literacy instruction in their school, district, or state.
You will be accountable for cultivating and maintaining meaningful relationships with educators who are both new to implementing Reading Horizons, and those with experience leveraging our curriculum.
Your day-to-day focus will be driving successful, meaningful, and impacting learning experiences in classrooms through professional learning and coaching with teachers.
The ideal candidate is a talented professional learning facilitator and instructional coach with two or more years implementing the Reading Horizons curriculum in their classroom.
The individual must possess a customer first attitude and must be based in Florida, Georgia, or Alabama.
Responsibilities... include, but are not limited to, the following:
Be an expert on the Reading Horizon's approach to reading instruction, having successfully completed the facilitator certification process
Help to ensure equity in the classroom by delivering professional learning courses to teachers, coaches, and leaders on how to effectively implement Reading Horizons Discovery or Reading Horizons Elevate program to impact classroom learning
Adjust professional learning workshops within specified parameters to fit the needs of the participants
Meet teachers where they are and provide tailored on-site support to teachers, coaches, and leaders.
This may range from providing pacing support to helping educators analyze data and apply it to instruction, to working with leaders to identify evidence of implementation successes and challenges
Track and submit detailed reports, as well as complete all assignments in a timely manner
Engage in internal cycle of professional improvement and learning (including being observed, receiving feedback, and being coached)
Willingness to travel overnight, up to 12 nights per month
Qualifications:
A passion for supporting educators
2 years or more experience implementing Reading Horizons in the classroom
Demonstrated success in building strong relationships with educators and a strong record of achieving impact in the classroom
Strong presentation skills and ability to skillfully lead professional learning in front of large groups of people
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Driven, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and with a can-do attitude
Working Environment
An on-site presence is required for team members who live within 50 miles of the home office in Kaysville, Utah.
All others will work remotely with occasional travel to the home office.
Willingness to travel overnight, up to 12 nights per month
You must be able to sit or stand at a desk all day while looking at a computer screen.
You must be able to talk effectively on the phone all day to deliver effective customer service to customers in many regions and multiple time zones.
The ideal candidate will reside in Florida.
Candidates in Alabama and Georgia, with willingness to travel frequently to Florida, will also be considered.
We will give preference to applicants in Alabama, California, Florida, and Georgia.
