Summary

The Product Manager for Line of Business executes the strategy and vision for our industry-changing platform as we continue to expand beyond ITSM and into individual Lines of Business such as HR, Facilities, GRC and Procurement. This role resides in the Product Management team that sits at the intersection of our business, engineering team and customer base. It is a highly visible role requiring an individual who’s deeply motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate about building world-class service management experiences. Responsible for the life cycle for product innovation, development and implementation, profitability (tied to business growth), positioning and long-term planning.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Evolve product strategy based on market and competitive research, internal operations data analysis, and industry trends.
  • Industry expertise – the Product Line Manager is ultimately responsible for all product decisions (user interface, customer experience... prioritization of features, potential partners, and business economics), overall portfolio strategy (build, buy, partner) & roadmap.
  • Work with leadership to create a product roadmap of releases, initiatives and epics that align product plans with portfolio vision.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally in the creation of upgrade product decisions, soliciting and integrating work from multiple teams into product designs.
  • Manage existing products and vendors in the evolution and maintenance of a product portfolio
  • In-market product forecasting and analysis to drive future growth of product portfolio, as well as create new functionality and products that can increase revenue, drive GA or reduce churn
  • Create and define product roadmaps driven by business strategy and emerging technology trends.
  • Develop detailed business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to think, fail and iterate fast with research and learning, rapid prototyping, and market tests.
  • Define and analyze KPIs and metrics that inform the feature/product’s success and tie to corporate initiatives and profitability.
  • Provide mentorship for a team of smart, strategic, and creative product managers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent relevant experience

Experience

  • 12 years of product management experience that includes product strategy definition and taking products from concept to launch.
  • 3 years of experience with ITSM/ESM products and demonstrates market expertise in lines of business
  • 3 years of experience building out Lines of Business (in consultancy, professional services, or product management) in the world of Service Management. Line of Businesses could include HR, Facilities, Legal, GRC, PMM etc.

  • Broad understanding of software engineering lifecycle including, testing, release practices and operational best practices.
  • Experience working with product, engineering, and operations to build, execute and test technical user-centric designs that lead to successful product delivery solutions.
  • Excellent networking skills within the technology community, customers, and marketing to drive product strategy
