GRC Compliance Analyst is responsible for coordinating with company business and technical Subject Matter Experts and process owners to collect evidence, assess and test compliance of IT, Data Protection, and Vendor controls against Macy's Inc. and external regulations, policies, and procedures. Contributes to and maintains training materials, SOPs, and build relationships with teams across the enterprise to ensure... knowledge-sharing and effective education on standards and procedures. Provides advice to GRC, InfoSec, Consumer Privacy and Legal teams and business leaders on compliance standards, compliance levels, and program improvement. Report to the Director, GRC through assigned team leads. Perform other duties as assigned. This position is virtual/ remote/Work from home, however candidate must be able to travel to a Macy's location as the needs of the business may require from time to time.
- Essential Functions:*
- Executing compliance control tests of areas of business to assess adequacy, operational effectiveness, and adherence to company's policies, procedures and standards.
- Working with auditors and technical subject matter experts to coordinate internal and external audit/assessment requirements and reduce overlap in data requests.
- Conducting technical and process compliance assessments based on established frameworks and risk management programs.
- Maintaining a compliance calendar and contributing to regular compliance reports for management.
- Identifying gaps/opportunities/key risks and work with control owners to develop corrective actions to address gaps.
- Tracking confirmed audit findings/issues and working with GRC leaders, business partners, and stakeholders to develop and execute action plans to mitigate or remediate issues.
- Educating stakeholders on governance and compliance concepts across the organization to drive consistency in the understanding and adherence with GRC processes.
- Advocating for compliance and working closely with corporate counterparts on compliance processes
- Conducting research as assigned and providing recommendations for improving the compliance position of various functional areas.
- Qualifications and Competencies:*
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university
- 3-5 years related experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.
- Knowledge of MS Office computer programs are required
- Ability to code using Python, Java/Java script, C# or Ruby is a significant plus
- Clear and effective communication skills (written, oral, and listening).
- Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
- Critical thinking and judgement capabilities.
- This position will also be expected to make recommendations to management on ways to improve the GRC posture of Macy's based on this persons' risk and compliance knowledge. This position will also be expected to represent management from time to time during executive briefings, status updates, team meetings, and similar activities.
