About the Senior Director, Data Science at Headspace:

Headspace is a leading organization that brings mindfulness to all members across the globe. We are seeking a data science leader, to hire and lead a high-impact team that will conduct statistical analysis and develops scientific solutions to drive data-driven decision-making across marketing, product, content, and B2B. Immediate priorities include paid media optimization, pricing and portfolio analysis, content valuation, and member engagement/retention. This is a highly visible role with significant impact, and the analysis and solutions developed by this leader will enable senior leadership to optimally deploy marketing/content investment and prioritize product/portfolio initiatives across Headspace.

Location: This role is open to remote employees in select US states: California, New York, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Maryland + Washington DC, North Carolina, and Washington.

How your skills and passion will come to life at... Headspace:

  • Leverage technical expertise in statistics, econometrics, and machine learning to lead a high performing data science team
  • Dive deep to identify business opportunities to improve decision making, and design and develop scientific solutions to push Headspace forward in these areas
  • Build forecasting and causal models to understand marketing effectiveness, the forecasted performance of different investment scenarios, and optimize paid media investment
  • Conduct econometric analysis to inform pricing and portfolio decisions
  • Develop a causal framework to measure the value of content on member acquisition, conversion, and retentionIdentify causal indicators of member health and engagement to inform product initiatives and member engagement goals
  • Develop customer segmentation models to inform marketing, content, and product strategies that meet the distinct mindfulness needs of different Headspace members
  • Clearly communicate model results to non-technical leaders, and gain buy-in on implementing science solutions
    What you’ve accomplished:
  • 10+ years of experience in the industry developing and implementing data science solutions5+ years of management experience
  • Master’s degree in statistics, economics, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field
  • Experience with propensity models, clustering analysis, time series forecasting, and causal methodsHow we feel about Diversity & Inclusion:
