What you'll be doing...

The future of work is upon us and unfolding quickly. The number of organizations that have embraced remote working has skyrocketed since March 2020, and many of them are eager to fill their remote roles with the incredibly talented people to be found in other countries. A platform that makes it easy to employ remote workers around the world has never been more necessary. We are just at the beginning of the exciting, new "distributed HR" category, and the headroom for growth is staggering.

The Content and SEO Manager is a unique opportunity on Oyster’s fast-growing marketing team to educate HR managers and People Operations teams as they explore the complex world of cross-border employment. As a content creator, you’ll have an immediate impact on the growth and scale of our content program. Reporting to the Director of Content, you’ll have the opportunity to influence strategy and work in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to grow organic traffic through our blog and content program
  • Evaluate Oyster’s current SEO state and outline opportunities to increase inbound traffic based on these findings
  • Plan and write content based on keyword research to support our content pillars
  • Work closely with the Content Marketing Manager and content partners on optimizing all content for SEO
  • Develop a backlink strategy and find opportunities to partner with other content providers, vendors, and blogs to bolster organic growth
  • Work closely with product marketing, amplification, brand, demand gen, and internal stakeholders to support content needs
  • Continuously measure and improve content performance
  • Work closely with creative resources and partners to ensure content stays on brand and consistent with our style and tone
  • Other content tasks as required

What we're looking for

Are you a passionate content marketer? Do you have a natural curiosity about the world? If you love distilling complex ideas into engaging helpful content, we want to speak to you!

The ideal candidate is an experienced content marketer in the B2B tech space with a proven track record of executing effective content programs.

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role at a growing company
  • You understand the role content and SEO plays in the buyer’s journey and in driving both marketing and business objectives
  • You’re resourceful and manage time effectively
  • You’re an excellent writer and communicator who has a knack for distilling complex ideas into easy-to-understand helpful content
  • You’re a passionate self-starter with a curious and creative mind and love staying up-to-date on SEO trends and requirements
  • You’re very comfortable with SEO best practices, SEO tools like SEMrush and reviewing metrics in Google Analytics and Google Search Console

Skillsets that are important

  • Storytelling through multiple mediums (written, audio, visual)
  • Writing and editing, not only your work but the work of others
  • Managing projects, deadlines, and expectations
  • Collaborating with departments, and internal and external SMEs
  • Displaying empathy for our buyers, our customers, and colleagues
  • Analyzing and presenting content performance data

Skillsets that are not required (but are a bonus)
