Affirm’s Compliance team designs and implements a compliance program that enables Affirm to proactively adhere to regulatory requirements while also identifying and addressing potential regulatory issues that may arise. Compliance program activities include training, independent testing & monitoring, reporting and oversight. Although a second line of defense, compliance also proactively partners with the business to support new products, markets, and initiatives, issue identification and remediation plans, assessment and monitoring of third parties, and provides trends and data to enable informed decision making, strengthen controls or provide for better treatment of consumers.
Affirm is actively seeking a Compliance Lead to own, improve, and drive certain critical compliance management program elements. In this... role, the Compliance Lead will work across the compliance team and in partnership with other risk functions within the company to support the company’s compliance program. Specifically, the role with help to implement input into a Governance Risk and Compliance tool. Additionally, the role will help in executing various risk assessments and participate in the regulatory change management process. What you'll do
50% of the time - Serve as Compliance Subject Matter Expert for GRC tool
Work cross functionally on implementing Compliance’s input into an enterprise wide GRC tool.
Identify compliance requirements that need to be compiled and input.
Identify other compliance use cases for the tool.
Serve as one of the Compliance departments SMEs in tailoring the tool for the broader Compliance department’s needs.
Responsible for ensuring inputs are correct and working appropriately.
40% of time - Perform Risk Assessments
Assist in development of the methodology and execution of various compliance risk assessments.
Serve as a key partner in identifying cross functional partners.
Partner with various Compliance and business contacts in completing the assessments.
Work to compile results for management and assist in summarizing for strategic guidance.
Report to management on regulatory developments and risks/issues identified within assigned Compliance area.
Continuously improves internal compliance processes and methodologies relating to the Compliance Management Program and system.
10% of the time - Assist in Regulatory Change Management Process
Remain abreast of regulatory developments as they relate to Affirm’s product offerings.
Work with Legal in determining impact of regulatory changes to Affirm.

What we look for
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years of professional work experience in Compliance Program, Enterprise Risk, Operational or Project Management, or Audit, experience implementing risk programs preferred.
Excellent organizational and relationship management skills.
A strong interest in fintech and consumer finance.
Inquisitive and proactive in proposing creative and effective solutions.
Strong project management, critical thinking and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and critical issues.

Location - Remote U.S.
The majority of our roles can be located anywhere in the U.S. (exclusive of the U.S. Territories) and Canada (with the exception of Quebec).
