How can you join the movement?

CipherHealth is seeking a bright, hard-working, tech-savvy person to serve as Engineering Manager to oversee the... continued success of our DevOps team. This is a key position reporting to the Director of Development Operations. As a member of our technology management team, you will partner with other technical leads and engineers to define, implement, and drive best practices in DevOps.

You will be responsible for overseeing our on-going transition to cloud based infrastructure & services in GCP. Infrastructure-as-code expertise from Terraform to Ansible is strongly desired, as is a ‘hands-on’ approach to mentoring team members in these technologies. CI/CD pipeline best practices, including the ‘shift left’ from a security and efficiency perspective, is a strong requirement. You will partner with various teams to leverage your container and kubernetes experience to decouple our monolithic application into cloud native micro services.

You will partner with Product, software engineering, security, and architecture to solve operational problems and balance short-term and long-term needs. Your efforts will ensure that CipherHealth’s platform remains functional and available for the healthcare workers and hospitals providing necessary care around the country.

Responsibilities

  • Directly mentor and manage the work of DevOps & Site Reliability engineers
  • Manage the engineering recruitment process to grow the team according to plan
  • Develop training and continuous development methodologies to ensure high quality talent has a meaningful path forward with us for years to come
  • Assess, develop, and deploy frameworks and solutions to improve our systems performance, stability, redundancy, and maintainability
  • Enhance and continuously improve our monitoring and telemetry systems (Datadog, Nagios, Stackdriver, NewRelic)
  • Partner with stakeholders across technology teams to drive our cloud migration forward
  • Partner with platform teams to decouple our applications into cloud native micro services

Requirements

  • 4+ years DevOps experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • 1+ years of experience as an Engineering manager
  • Exceptional communication skills and consensus building skills
  • Passion for helping people: our engineers, our team, and the customers we serve
  • Demonstrable experience with Terraform and Ansible||Chef||Puppet|| other configuration management tools
  • Experience and certifications working with at least one public cloud technology: AWS, Azure, & GCP (preferred)
  • A growth-mindset and a desire to discuss new ideas and think collaboratively across the organization.
  • A demonstrated ability to self-motivate and own projects from inception to completion.
