Job Description:
The Intern will report to the Associate Director Learning Experience Design. Responsibilities may include course design, graphic design, web design, and user-experience research. The ideal intern will have a great work ethic, effective communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
The intern will have an opportunity to contribute to improving how we design learning experiences and learn about professional practices and emerging trends in the field of instructional design and learning experience design.
The Internship will be 3 months in duration and 20 hours per week.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Review and revise course content for accessibility and usability.
- Develop or revise instructional materials related to web accessibility and usability.
- Create website layout/user interfaces by using standard HTML/CSS practices.
- Adapt designs for multiple platforms (i.e. web, print, social media, etc.)
- ... Design digital products using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Help research and assemble resources and templates related to effective learning, teaching, web content design.
- Conduct literature reviews.
Position Requirements
- Working knowledge and experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail in all deliverables and communications.
- Research, analyze, and synthesize information/data and provide recommendations for designing learning solutions.
- Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures.
- Strong comprehension and creative visualization skills.
- Strong self-motivation and self-management.
- Ability to constructively identify and discuss potential project challenges (e.g., scope change, and deadlines).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Position Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in college or graduate program.
- One to two years' experience using course development software or course learning management system.
- Ability to develop research proposals, e.g., familiarity with common research designs.
- Effective and appropriate written and verbal communication skills in a business environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- A background in instructional design, graphic design, user-experience design, or learning experience design.
