Chemonics International seeks a Senior Business Analyst for its Global Technology Infrastructure (GTID) team to act as the intermediary between GTID and other business units within the organization, using a deep understanding of business processes and technology to achieve tech-enabled outcomes toward achievement of Chemonics’ mission and strategy. The Business Analyst will be responsible for identifying unarticulated business needs and coordinate between stakeholder groups to address them; providing consultative support on technology initiatives; creating prototypes and codesign innovative solutions; assisting in business process redesign and create documentation; and proactively monitoring industry, functional, and product trends. Responsibilities include:

  • Guide stakeholders through and participate in the software development lifecycle
  • Evaluate information systems... to assess their suitability for the organization’s needs and projected outcomes; and liaise stakeholders, staff, vendors, and technical teams in order to achieve the projected outcomes.
  • Perform business and gap analysis and facilitate user journey mappings on the most complex projects and enterprise applications for evaluating solutions against business needs to determine their feasibility. Apply design thinking and agile methodology to work with stakeholders to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs; understand the user journeys and define user requirements
  • Document functional and technical requirements, solution options and recommendations, impact assessment and other technical business cases as needed to deliver a successful product
  • Pro-actively make connections with other initiatives in place, underway or planned across other parts of Chemonics that need to be considered for better product delivery and reduce redundancy
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing with end users including development of scripts
  • Collaborate within GTID with project managers/scrum masters, developers, testers, and change management to deliver successful products. Take scrum master role as needed.
  • Assist with coordinating upgrades, testing and rollout
  • Create reference guides for stakeholders and provide support for system requests, product troubleshooting, and questions (including outreach to vendors as applicable)
  • Test, install, and configure plug-ins or add-ons in off the shelf products
  • Manage relationships with vendors and oversee short-term consultants’ deliverables
  • Develop understanding of IT systems for business analysis and occasionally perform system administration tasks when needed
  • Promote architectural consistency and usability standards; define and execute test cases
  • Identify opportunities for new tech-enabled ways of working; coach employees to make use of technology and information
  • Undertake stretch assignments as appropriate
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Management Science, Operations Management, Organizational Leadership, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of prior successful business analyst experience
  • Experience with M365 tools, including Azure DevOps, SharePoint, and PowerBI, and experience with Service Now
  • Experience performing data analysis using Power BI, Excel Pivot Tables, or other similar tools
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully convert business requirements and functional requirements to use cases, epics, and user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Demonstrated knowledge of both traditional waterfall and agile/lean methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to quantify resource requirements and measure and communicate proposed project benefits
  • Strong risk assessment, problem resolution, negotiation, communication, and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage both IT and non-IT stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
  • Broad IT experience in three or more of the following areas: applications development, enterprise architecture, project management, vendor management, quality assurance, infrastructure, and support
  • Experience working with corporate structures and business operations functions
  • Experience guiding stakeholders through the software development lifecycle
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • English fluency required; additionally, Spanish and French proficiency preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
