How Can You Help?

Hey there! We’re still a small team (4 software engineers and 4 data engineers) and most of us are more experienced on back-end technologies. While we’re proud of our front-end work on internal tools, we have a big project on our roadmap with a large client-facing component that requires a real veteran. An engineer who can not only deliver robust front-end code, but also a leader who helps us craft our front-end engineering culture/practices. We expect this engineer to spend most of their time on the front-end but with the... expectation that they will be able to contribute to backend code and infrastructure as well.

As a Senior Software Engineer at EveryDay Labs, you will:

• Write clean, extensible, well-tested code
• Collaborate on architecture, design and implementation decisions
• Engage internal stakeholders to determine requirements for new software
• Participate in code reviews
• As a founding member, help us keep our engineering culture fresh and robust by being yourself and introducing us to new ideas. We’re excited for how your unique strengths will push us to grow and be better!

What Are We Looking For?

• React expertise (heads up: our homework assignment during the interview process is in React)
• Web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) expertise
• UNIX command-line tool knowledge/comfort
• Git or a similar, version control system knowledge/comfort
• Strong creative problem solving/troubleshooting skills
• Collaborative and flexible; willing to teach and be taught
• Passion for mission-driven work
• We are a remote-only team, although candidates must be fully, legally eligible to work in the United States (visa sponsorship is not available)

Nice to Also Have

• Passion for education
• Modern web frameworks such as Node.js understanding
• UI/UX design experience
• Java working knowledge
• Python proficiency
• SQL proficiency (we use PostgreSQL)
• AWS or similar cloud computing platforms and systems administration knowledge
• Docker or similar, container development tools proficiency
• Microservices knowledge
• Startup experience
