C# .Net Application Developer (100% Remote)

Seeking a Developer/Programmer to continue work on the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) Tool. The initial phase, which consisted of making an existing generic NQT search application accessible for users on the Testing123 website and developing the environment so the items are fully interactive (TEs), instead of only pdfs of the items, is almost complete and MDE now needs to begin Phase 2 of the MCA Question tool. This request is to have the selected resource add current MCA math, science, and reading questions to the tool along with making identified questions interactive. This includes a loading process from assessment vendor to product which can be edited and managed by the program area.

· Modify an existing C#.NET application written using the MVC 3 programming paradigm to meet WCAG 2.0 level A and AA guidelines

· In most cases, minor user interface changes are expected to address accessibility (such as adding HTML tags... changing CSS, etc.)

· May require redesign of some user interface features to address accessibility (such as rewriting Javascript or ASP.NET code)

· Collaborate with project team members on user interface and accessibility requirements

· Integrate application build process with agency’s DevOps system

· Manage application code in agency’s source control system

· Test code periodically to ensure it produces the desirable results and perform debugging when necessary

· Upgrade application code (if necessary) to meet current agency infrastructure standards

· Create documentation for user support

· Provide knowledge transfer

  • *Minimum Qualifications
  • *

· Five (5) years’ recent experience in C#.NET application development with MVC3 programming paradigm

· Two (2) engagements lasting more than six (6) months in C#.NET Developer/Programmer role

· Six (6) months’ experience implementing digital accessibility in a web application to meet WCAG 2.0 level A and AA guidelines

· Web accessibility design and development experience

· Proven experience as a programmer or relevant role

· Development experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases

· Strong communication skills

· Ability to work independently and in team settings

· Detail-oriented and excellent concentration ability

· An analytical mindset and critical thinking

· Demonstrable ability to discover and fix errors in code
