Infrastructure Engineer -- Offering Hybrid/Remote Work
Modis Inc. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer candidate for a temp-to-hire opportunity offering mostly remote work located in a suburb of Cleveland, OH. The Infrastructure Engineer will assist with security, installing, supporting, and maintaining networking equipment including servers, routers, switches, laptop, and desktop computers. Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of experience in hardware, network, and server support and troubleshooting.
This is a contract-to-hire role offering 4 days a week remote work with a global leader in IT services and data protection.
Infrastructure Engineer Job
Responsibilities:
- Assist and provide functional and technical support, troubleshooting and diagnosing server systems including:
Active Directory, VMWare, file and print services, Office 365, VoIP in a Microsoft / Cisco environment.
- Network, server, and hardware installs, set-up, and maintenance
- Assist with the... administration and maintenance of company's infrastructure including Cisco Routers and Switches, MPLS and Internet Circuits, Microsoft Servers, and Cisco VoIP.
- Maintain current Exchange and SharePoint environment using a hybrid deployment of Microsoft Office 365.
- Maintain corporate wide print servers utilizing high availability and failover systems built into Microsoft server 2012
- Maintain data integrity and file system security for the server environment.
- Responsible for software patches and updates for all server systems. Confirm automated patching has completed on applicable systems and manually update systems that cannot be automatically patched.
- Manage co-located VMware infrastructure and backups/system redundancy.
- Ability to work with both physical and virtual server systems, Microsoft system center and Altiris for end point management.
- Work as part of the IT team to escalate and resolve user and technical issues.
- Scheduled/rotated/emergency 24-hour on call availability and weekends/holidays required.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Infrastructure Engineering experience within hardware, networking, and servers.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Skills in Active Directory, MS Windows Servers, MS Exchange, O365, Cisco routers and switches, and VMWare
