About our Team

Data Science is at the core of our offerings, and as a result all members of our Data Science team have the opportunity to make a large impact on our company and the industry. As a team and as a company, we are large enough that there is plenty of support and collaboration, but small enough that your work and... ideas can have real impact.

You will work on a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying production machine learning solutions. You will have the opportunity to work alongside Machine Learning Engineers, other Data Scientists, and Analysts within our Data Science team who together create solutions with strategic and financial impact for Dstillery.

The Machine Learning Engineering team often tackles greenfield projects and we've recently deployed the first iteration of our next-generation Machine Learning platform, making it an exciting time to join and help shape our future.

As a Data Scientist you will:

  • Collaborate with ML engineers to expand upon our cutting edge Machine Learning platform.

  • Work with researchers and ML engineers to take early-stage ideas or research prototypes and design solutions in production.

  • Take ownership of the core machine learning algorithms that drive our company's core value proposition.

  • Prototype ideas, run experiments, and iterate in order to design data driven solutions to business problems.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g. machine learning, bioinformatics, operations research, physical science, or quantitative social science)

M.S. in computer science or statistics plus two years of professional experience.

  • Programming ability and desire to learn to write quality production code

  • Experience using large and complex data sets to solve real world problems.

  • Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and fluency in the related technical tools is a must.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially for communicating complex topics.

  • A track record in contributing to publications, presentations, external collaborations and service to the research community is a plus.
