The Manager of Channel Marketing has four distinct functions: 1) You will lead the team of managing day to day operations and overall production of all owned marketing channels such as; Email, Onsite, Mobile Push, In-App Messaging, including flawless execution setup for lifecycle and monetization marketing campaigns and experimentation and monitoring deliverability within each channel, 2) You will lead the implementation of new owned marketing channels; some examples include; Web Push, SMS, Intercom, etc 3) You will enhance and implement processes and workflows that support the project management for the team, and 4) You will be the main business stakeholder for cross-functional platform buildout with Product and Engineering teams to ensure our systems are set up correctly for a seamless cross-channel experience in all owned marketing channels to Udemy’s students and instructors

This is what you'll be doing:

  • Own all 4 main user-facing interfaces of the team; Email, On-site (desktop & mobile web), Mobile Push, and In-App Messaging, including; Leading, training, and motivating the current team
  • Seamlessly implementing stellar marketing experiences across all owned channels
  • Project manage workflows to ensure timely deliverability, team alignment, and bandwidth
  • Be the main owner for how all experiments are conducted by the team so they are launched flawlessly within our external (Braze) and our internal tools, across every owned channel
  • Project manage Lifecycle & Monetization team initiatives like Black Friday and Cyber Monday Promotion Campaigns, Prime Day Promotion Campaign, and others
  • Build for scale; develop dynamic templates and modules compatible within marketing channels
  • Be a key thought partner for all aspects of the Lifecycle Marketing and Monetization team, including in marketing promotions, pricing, and personalization experiences across channels
  • Be a cross-functional stakeholder to platform buildout with Product and Engineering teams
  • Work closely with our marketing automation team in India to coordinate automation programs to improve marketing operations and setup team coverage during (Pacific Time) off-hours
  • Maintain strong external vendor relationships to ensure all systems are working as intended
    We're excited about you because you have:
  • Deep production experience implementing cross-channel marketing and a bias for action
  • 6+ years experience managing and executing flawless marketing experiences across owned channels such as; email (required), on-site, mobile push, IAM, etc.
  • 4+ years of experience managing an email automation team
  • Ability to manage, train, support, and develop a team of channel marketing managers
  • Proficient using Braze (previous known as AppBoy) across channels is highly preferred
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate test design and implementation across marketing channels
  • Proficient in using Responsys for email marketing
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS is required
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL skills are essential
  • Identify opportunities to enhance workflows and processes by using automation efforts
  • Experience creating a personalized and dynamic email, push, and/or web content
  • Oversee the quality and integrity of all owned marketing channel campaigns prioritizing the customer experience across every touchpoint
  • Influence based leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential
  • Educational background in marketing or business is helpful
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving business environment
  • You are creative, resourceful, detail-oriented, and highly organized
