Title: Regional Early Childhood Workforce Coordinator - Region#6, Delaware, Blackford, Joy, Rush Randolph, Henry, Wayne, Union, and Fayette Counties

Purpose: The Regional Early Childhood Workforce Coordinator is responsible for bringing greater consistency, levels of education, and opportunities for professional recognition to the early childhood workforce in the assigned region through collaboration, alignment, and professional development planning that children, families, and the workforce may thrive.

Position Location: Field Staff.

This position works from a home office.

Position Status: FullTime/Exempt

Reports To: Workforce Systems Senior Director

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated passion that aligns with IN AEYC’s mission and vision for children and

families in the state of Indiana.

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Child Development, or a related

field; Master’s preferred.

  1. Minimum of five years’ experience in the early... childhood profession and three years in a

supervisory position.

  1. Experience in the accreditation process and attainment and/or renewal with one of the

approved accrediting bodies for Paths to QUALITY™.

  1. Good communication skills; both oral and written.

  2. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  3. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and provide support to a diverse client

population, located in a variety of settings to provide effective and efficient caseload

management, and complete assignments with minimal supervision.

  1. Must have a reliable automobile, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel throughout

the state, spend nights away from the home office, and attend evening meetings.

  1. Applicant will be subject to criminal history checks as required by the OECOSL.

  2. Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.

  3. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  4. Ability to treat the information on Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children

clients (individual people and organizations), staff, and Board members in a confidential manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish/continue relationships with local education and training entities, and both

public and private agencies that either have or have not historically supported the early

learning workforce.

  1. Assist in the design and implementation of workforce pilot programs that are focused

on early childhood educator’s career navigation and professional development planning.

  1. Identify or respond to referrals regarding individuals from a variety of backgrounds and

provider types, career experience, and degree attainment, interested or currently

working in early childhood and assist with career navigation, professional development

planning, and ongoing support.

  1. Track data on early childhood workforce needs identified in the career planning process

and submit regularly.

  1. Collaborate with T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® INDIANA to recruit, retain and recognize

sponsoring programs and recipients.

  1. Collaborate with the Non-Formal CDA Project to coordinate and conduct both interests

and enrollment opportunities, act as the Instructor or assist Non-Formal CDA Project in

locating an Instructor, and/or provide advice to students seeking their CDA through

for non-formal learning opportunities.

  1. Work closely with all Paths to QUALITY™ partners, IN AEYC projects, and chapters in

assigned region by providing guidance, accountability, and assistance in gathering

necessary data for evaluations.

  1. Provide targeted supports to programs seeking or maintaining national accreditation

by one of the OECOSL approved national accrediting bodies.

  1. Assist the Chapters in planning and executing special events including fundraisers,

conferences, training, etc.

  1. Build and maintain relationships with chapter leaders by establishing regular contact

and traveling to chapter meetings as necessary to compliment and/or supplement the

work of the Chapters to align the work of local coalitions, groups, and IN AEYC

chapters.

  1. Create and deliver chapter leadership training programs with the assistance of the

Chapter.

  1. Target areas where no chapters exist, work with local members to create a local

chapter.

  1. Engage in all necessary teleconference, webinar, and face-to-face national, state or

regional conferences, training, and meetings.

  1. Other duties as assigned
