Senior Product Designer

At HackEDU, we create quality software that teaches developers how to build secure applications. To build effective training, the developer experience needs to be magical. Developers learn best with a hands-on approach, so our training platform needs to be intuitive and feel right so the tools get out of the way and our students can focus on the content they’re learning. As a Product Designer, you'll be responsible for the user experience in our web applications and training environments.

Our founders Jared and Matt started this journey in 2017 because they couldn’t find security training they would want to take themselves. The team is built from members of the intelligence community working, startup founders with large exits under their belts, and early employees at high growth venture backed companies.

HackEDU is growing fast and looking for our first full time Product Designer to join the team. We are an early stage, profitable startup looking to grow the team and build more cool... stuff! This position reports directly to the CTO.
Requirements:

• Several years of experience designing interactive applications
• Excellent visual, UI and interaction skills
  What you’ll do:
• Contribute to the overall product and design direction of the whole company
• Work cross-functionally with engineers and other partners
• Come up with features and improvements that ship quickly and with high quality
• Use and evolve our internal design system
• Create flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals for your features
• Work closely with our customers, sales teams, and executive teams to gather feedback design solutions for problems
• Work closely with our engineering team to ensure a high-quality implementation
• Help establishing a design culture within the company
• Redefining best-in-class software design and development processes so that we can build an opinionated product
  We are looking for:
• Passion for design and figuring out best in class solutions to UX, UI and interaction challenges
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to think through complex interaction design
• Expressing ideas through visuals and prototyping (HackEDU uses Figma)
• A quick learner with initiative and autonomy; a self-starter
• Adaptability in a fast paced startup environment and interest in taking on additional responsibility
• Excels with remote work

HackEDU has been 100% remote from the beginning. This is a Remote (work from home) position for candidates based in the United States
