Hampton Lumber looking for an Environmental Manager to join our team. In this role you will provide leadership, guidance and technical support to operations management. We are looking for someone to maintain a positive and productive working relationship with the community and the environmental agencies. This position will also serve as a member of the mill leadership team that... assists in managing of the day-to-day and strategic direction of the mill. Responsibilities:

Interacts with all plant personnel and company management to communicate environmental requirements, identifies compliance issues, implements compliance requirements, and acts as a technical resource.

Conducts permitting review applicability of capital, acquisitions, and maintenance projects.

Oversees facility inspections and audits.

Oversees and leads incident investigations and verifies implementation of corrective action.

Develops systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Acts as the interface between management and outside agencies in resolving major environmental issues.

Provides training to environmental department and plant personnel on key environmental issues, environmental requirements and compliance.

Performs statistical analysis, prepares reports, maintains appropriate compliance records and files required documents with various regulatory agencies within stated deadlines.

Works closely with Mill Leadership and Corporate communications as needed with internal and external media requests.Company Liaison with EPA, state, and International regulatory officials and customers on emissions regulation issues

Keep abreast of new environmental regulations, including new international, US state, and US federal environmental air regulatory changes

Attend regulatory meetings and conferences and update business on future industry needs

Qualifications:

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Must Possess high degree of problem-solving skills.

Must be able to work with a diverse group of people in a professional manner and be able to handle several work tasks concurrently.

This person must be able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and take the initiative to evaluate and drive process improvements.

Proficient at an intermediate level in Microsoft Word and Excel.

25% travel may be required.

Provides evening and weekend assistance to operations.
