Virtual Nurse - Mercy Kids (PRN) - Chesterfield, Missouri - Med Surg

Overview:

The primary role of the Mercy Kids Connect Virtual Nurse is to serve as a direct access point to Mercy’s broad scope of pediatric services across the organization: Inpatient,Outpatient, Primary care, Specialty care, Support services.

With intimate knowledge and connections to Mercy hospitals, clinics and systems, the Mercy Kids Connect Virtual Nurse is the expert at introducing callers to the appropriate Mercy access point for the patient’s need(s). Access is facilitated by connecting the caller to the right clinical co-worker via telephonic or telehealth channels. Access at times may be supported via email or MyMercy.

The nurse determines connections by using clinical pediatric expertise and defined protocols. Daily work requires exceptional communication and service skills, in addition to detailed discrete documentation in the patient’s electronic medical record.

The role is accountable for service line growth strategies. Through routine data collection and analysis... and reporting requirements, the Mercy Kids Connect team routinely supplies leadership with information for strategic planning and service line analysis.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of three years of pediatric nursing experience in a clinical setting that included physician interaction. Working in Epic documenting in patient charts and navigating reports preferred.
• Education: Preferred education includes a BSN, or associates degree in nursing with a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field
• Licensure: Registered Nurse Missouri License
• Other: Must be able to work a rotating schedule, including some weekends and holidays, as required to support adequate coverage. Able to work well under pressure.
