Job Description:
The Senior Engineer is part of a team of developers delivering innovation for our Point of Sale and Store Systems Technology. This position will be responsible for following and maintaining engineering standards for API first, cloud ready modern commerce platforms and may take on team lead responsibilities for planning and directing software project work performed by the engineering team or vendors. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the retail point of sale domain and be excited to contribute to the evolution of the POS solution across 1100+ stores processing over $4B+ of transaction volume in an omni channel environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop back-end cloud ready microservices and REST APIs
- Based on assigned development tasks, produce technical documentation, versioned software code, and unit test scripts
- Coordinate with... other developers in initial unit testing of integrated code components
- Coordinate with QA testers in resolving discrepancies between software specifications and application behavior
- Participate in project activities, including status meetings and reviews of other engineers designs and code
- Work with Architecture team to craft technical designs and drive the evolution of our store architecture
- Write code that is of high quality and consistent with our coding standards
- Participate in and lead continuous education programs to grow your skills both technically and in the business domain
Qualifications:
- Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- 5+ years’ experience in Springboot applications with strong knowledge of Java, Angular, Node, Spring following an agile methodology
- Experience developing application in retail POS / MPOS environment
- Experience in REST APIs development and any of the cloud technologies such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Google Cloud, Azure, or AWS
- Good exposure to development tools like Maven, Ant, Gradle, Git and familiarity with CI/CD process.
- Functional and Technical knowledge of POS device handling mechanisms through device drivers
- Strong fundamentals of system design and architecture, Algorithms, and data structure
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project management (from conception to completion) and planning skills
- Experience with Splunk or ELK stack and writing corresponding queries
- Experience in iOS applications, Hybrid applications, SymmetricDS, Cordova, Capacitor would be a plus
- Experience in networking and securing applications also a plus
