Afteractive LLC, an Orlando, FL based, digital creative studio, is seeking a talented, self-motivated Junior WordPress Developer to join our team. This is a frontend developer role with website support responsibilities. We need someone who thrives on troubleshooting and is passionate about WordPress. This person must be able navigate their way around WordPress issues, plugins, theme files, editors, and error logs to provide fast responses and resolutions to our clients. They will be responsible for editing and maintaining multiple client websites per week. Tasks range from 15 minute tickets to 20 hour long small projects. The individual we... choose thrives in turning tasks around quickly and meeting deadlines on website edits, routine maintenance, and technical support.
Development Responsibilities:
- Write HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and PHP on sites built with WordPress CMS
- Implementing ADA accessibility in designs and development
- Building out custom websites using our starter theme
- Create new websites using the WordPress Block Editor
- Perform WordPress updates, site maintenance
- Make Website edits (content changes, editing gravity forms, creating new pages, updating menu items, etc.)
- Use Google Search Console to troubleshoot website errors and resolve issues identified by the tool
Support Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting site, plugin, and email issues
- Updates to ACF fields and changes to the template code and UI
- Editing content in the WordPress Block Editor
- Contact with hosting companies
- Responsive design and mobile-related issues
- Troubleshooting and resolving site-related issues quickly and efficiently
- Quality check before work goes to the client
- Installing plugins
- Installing tracking codes
Requirements:
- Experience with WordPress Block Editor and ACF
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Strong organizational, prioritization, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing requirements and instructions
- Adheres to project hours requirements, due dates, and tracking time appropriately
- Attention to detail (including accurate data entry skills)
- Knowledge in WordPress framework, plugins, and maintenance
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, PHP and JavaScript (jQuery)
- Functional knowledge of version control (Git)
Our ideal candidate has:
- 2 -3 years experience in WordPress
- 2 - 3 years of web design experience
- 2 - 3 years of front end development
- A portfolio or samples of past work
What we offer:
- 100% remote position
- $26,000 – $32,000 depending on skill and experience, paid time off for major US holidays
Standard hours are Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 6:00 pm, with flexibility when needed, and the opportunity to work remotely. We are willing to train the right candidate for some aspects of the role, but prefer someone who understands and appreciates the complexity of WordPress websites and displays exceptional problem-solving skills.
