About the opportunity
This leadership position will provide direction, guidance, facilitation and execution of academic technology services. Qualified candidates must have extensive experience in planning, developing, implementing, and managing technology-based learning within the higher education industry. The candidate must have a solid understanding of best practices in blended and online education including quality matters, learning theory... curriculum management, delivery models, technology tools, infrastructure, educational quality control, marketing, governance, metrics and business planning.
The Director will manage a team of academic professionals focused on securing, managing and delivering large, complex client engagements that evaluate, build technology-enhanced or fully online learning initiatives; the Director's initial assignment will be managing Instructional Technology Services at the University of St. Thomas.
Where you will make an impact
The Director is expected to contribute to Ellucian's Higher Education growth and development in a variety of ways, including:
Service/Engagement Management: Lead service/engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage service teams; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk
Client Management: Assist in the management of day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors; create and deliver monthly status reports and presentations
Business Development: Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients or prospects; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies
Practice Development: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "whitepapers" and "point-of-view" documents; lead training; get published in industry periodicals
People Development: Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for remote and on-site delivery teams and staff
