Web Designer

Job Purpose:

As the Web Designer, you use your creativity and passion for design to help create web interfaces that are cutting edge. You will be joining a highly talented design and creative team working with product managers and product owners to continue to improve customer experience. You will be able to create designs for both landing pages and social media sites to better assist and support customers.

Essential Functions:

1. Design new HTML5 banners and update existing templates for both desktop and mobile

2. Design email promotions and email newsletters

3. Design Facebook custom tabs and Twitter custom backgrounds

4. Design secondary/tertiary web pages based on master design concept

5. Professional web photography re-touching and color correction

6. Maintain high design quality; ensuring that the visual content is consistent

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Computer Art, Digital Design or something similar

2. 1-3 years... of relevant work experience

3. Experience with the following design tools (Google Web Designer, Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, etc) as well as Sketch, or Figma

4. Experience designing display banners, email campaigns, website marketing promotions, image editing, etc

5. Understanding and experience with web technologies: HTML, CSS, JQUERY, Javascript, PHP, etc and their strengths and limitations

6. Strong sense of design, layout, typography and branding in a responsive web environment

7. Solid knowledge of current web design trends and techniques

8. Clear understanding of information architecture

9. Illustration skills a plus

10. Understanding of web standards/web browser capabilities and ability to create cross-browser and cross-platform compliant pages a plus

11. Experience with social media and mobile websites a plus

12. Familiar with OS X operating systems

13. Excited to iterate through design concepts to yield the best graphic solution

14. Ability to work with pre-existing assets to match look and feel for new features, as well as create new assets and design concepts from scratch

15. Knowledge of hospitality and travel industry and technology/marketing solutions a plus

Work Environment:

This role is eligible for remote work within the United States as well as working from one of our global offices.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Travel:

This position may require up to 5% travel. Travel may be outside the local area and overnight.
