Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer

About the AI / Enrichment Team

Our team is building a suite of machine learning tools to help solve problems in the healthcare and life science space. The team’s initial focus is the entity matching problem to automate the merging of data from across multiple sources to enrich the health care provider profiles in H1’s core product. As the team grows there many data-driven projects lined up including intelligent automated web scraping, natural language processing to better group and classify medical information, and graph algorithms to understand the patterns of connection across the global healthcare landscape.

The Role

In order to enable rapid experimentation, we need to make use of the latest technologies and platforms for ML. You will work closely with our ML Engineers and Data Scientists who focus on running... experiments and exploring novel mathematical approaches. This role will help build the tools that allow for rapid experimentation. As our team grows, there is the opportunity to take on additional mentoring and management duties for less senior ML Platform Engineers.

What You’ll Do at H1

• Identify technological enablers that allow the team to try out cutting edge approaches
• Architect our ML platform combining in-house tooling, cloud-native resources, and 3rd party SaaS offerings
• Develop in-house software when cloud or saas tools that don’t fit our needs
• Specify standard interfaces that allow team data scientists to focus on the math rather than computer science
• Work with the internal DevOps team to enable scale, reliability, and security of our ML systems
• Work with ML Engineers and Data Scientists to optimize the computational efficiency of our algorithms

What Kind of ML Platform Engineer are you?

• Have an agile development background and history of working in highly agile environments
• Have strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Have 5+ years of experience with most of the following skillsets and technologies: Python, containerization ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes, etc) DAG management systems (Airflow, Argo, Prefect, etc)SQL/NoSQL database design and optimization, AWS, Unit tests, CI/CD tools, documenting software architectures, refactoring existing codebases
