Job Description Summary
As the Product Clinical Specialist (PCS), you will have overall responsibility for accelerating the growth of GE Healthcare’s ultrasound enhancing agent, Optison, in assigned accounts. You will provide clinical and technical support, delivers in-service education presentations to customers in large and small group settings, and provides product demonstrations to customers. You will have a quarterly quota that assists the Zone Sales Manager in achieving the operating plan. Cross-functionally, the PCS role works closely with Cardiology Account Managers, Zone Sales Manager, Field Marketing, and other internal stakeholders. In this commercial role, you will stay on-label in all discussions, education, and training, both internal and external. As the PCS, you will report into the U.S. Cardiology Modality Leader. Job Description
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively work with Cardiology Account Managers and Zone Sales Manager to identify key accounts for development
- Work closely with a team of Cardiology Account Managers in strategic discussions that lead to increased Optison use in assigned accounts
- Identify key areas of growth potential for staff and physicians to ensure increased acceptance of enhanced echo with Optison in Echo Lab, ICU, ER, etc.
- Develop and execute an action plan to accelerate Optison use and achieve quarterly quota
- Plan, coordinate, and lead on-going Optison clinical training and support in assigned accounts
- Provide information to sonographers, physicians, nurses, and administrative customers that detail the benefits of Optison and address barriers to success (i.e. image quality, injection, standing orders, pharmacy)
- Present strategic business review to Zone Sales Manager and Modality Leader
- As a subject matter expert, monitor current trends and developments in the field of echocardiography
- Train Zone sales staff as well as other internal customers on the proper operation, features, and benefits of Optison
- Develop and maintain relationships with Optison Key Opinion Leaders (KOL’s) in respective Zone
- Document account activity in Salesforce.com platform
- Effectively collaborate and communicate frequently with Cardiology Account Managers and Zone Sales Manager
- Work closely with field marketing to provide key Voice of Customer feedback and customer needs
- Represent and assist at local and National trade shows or educational meetings. Communicate leads or follow-up needs to zone management.
- Maintain all vendor hospital credentialing
- Other duties as assigned by Cardiology Modality Leader
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree and at least 5 years of clinical experience utilizing ultrasound enhancing agents as a sonographer
- Five years’ experience in a clinical discipline, preferably in a discipline that requires exposure and understanding within multiple clinical areas such as OR, ICU, Therapies, and medical/surgical patient areas for adult patient
- Qualified candidate must be registered through the ARDMS and maintain an active RDCS certification and other related certifications
- Ability to interface with both internal team members and external customers as part of solutions-based sales approach
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and live in posted location
- Able to travel extensively, including overnight travel up to 70% of the time
- Valid motor vehicle license
Preferred Knowledge/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience
- Prior clinical specialist, sales or marketing experience preferred
- Demonstrates ability to fully understand and present the technology associated with each OEM ultrasound equipment platform
- Solid understanding of ultrasound physics
- Demonstrate effective educational and presentation skills in diverse settings from one-on-one to formal large group situations, in-person and virtually
- Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision
- Demonstrate strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced MS Office skills to develop effective reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Willingness to travel extensively to support company goals, up to 70% of the time
- Must live near major airport in designated zone geography
