Senior Software Engineer - Utah or US Remote

DeepSee is seeking a self-driven, autonomous and motivated leader who can work in a fast-moving organization utilizing their experience and passion for cutting-edge, cloud-based serverless data technology to move our mission forward. We seek an experienced lead who can work with our business, teams, and individuals to help drive cloud technology architectures in AWS that matches our high ambitions and objectives of the company.

This position provides leadership and direction to our cloud & data functions that will help revolutionize the way DeepSee builds and leverages its platform in AWS with solid data structures in the cloud. DeepSee embraces serverless as a core principle and enable microservice development. This will help us continue to enhance our ability to enable Artificial Intelligence, Machine and Deep learning for business purposes.

Job Responsibilities

• Using software engineering best practices in designing, developing, coding, testing, debugging our products
• Managing complex projects independently with minimal direction and integrates work into system for deployment
• Adapting advanced software engineering skills to break down ideas into iteratable work and prioritize the project development with project management
• Developing and implementing procedures for data security and compliance
• Providing system overview and subject matter expertise to determine how to enhance and grow our current system
• Managing projects to timelines, providing feedback on scope, timelines, and people needed to deliver product
• Providing direction and mentoring to team members and contractors to lead the teams and engineering organization forward

Must Haves

• 4-year degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent education and experience
• 5+ years' Senior level experience with Python
• 5+ years’ experience in enterprise application architecture
• Experience with other languages a plus (Java and or JavaScript NODE.js and socket communication)
• Understanding of cloud native, serverless and microservices architecture
• Experience in architecting modularized, scalable enterprise cloud application systems (AWS)
• Experienced in designing database schemas writing and tuning complex SQL & NoSQL queries
• Understand big data storage solutions such as PostgresSQL, GraphDB, DocumentDB, MongoDB, or Cassandra and big data movement leveraging solutions such as Kafka
• Commitment to code quality: unit testing, automated testing, peer code-reviews, etc
• Able to work across multiple environments (local, staging, testing, production, etc.)
• Able to debug and troubleshoot effectively
• Self-driven and able to work autonomously

Nice to Haves

• Financial technology (Fintech) or Insurance technology (InsurTech) experience
• DevOps experience or Understanding of how to improve team workflows and CI/CD
• Familiarity with our stack (Python, Java, React, PostgreSQL, AWS) or similar
• Experience with Git and coding workflows such as branching and pull requests
• Professional engineering experience in a startup or high-growth tech company
