Overview
LogMeIn is actively searching for a people-savvy technical Manager, Web Development (front-end) to join our Web & eCommerce team.
If you have a strong aptitude for bringing groups together, building bridges, organizing large technical projects, and managing various opinions and interests. Please note: This is a remote-centric position. For this role, LogMeIn is open to hiring within the Eastern Time Zone of the United States.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of approximately 5-7 Front-end Software Engineers/Web Developers; including, but not limited to: hiring, work distribution, training/mentoring, performance assessments, improvement plans, alignment with organizational objectives, etc.
- Collaborate with other... Technical Leads and Senior Engineers to create eCommerce technical roadmap/strategy, capture business/technical requirements, evaluate new feature proposals, identify improvement opportunities, document success metrics, etc.
- Review architecture, code, test plans, project plans, PRs, deployments and operations on a regular basis to ensure excellence throughout the team and organization
- Inspire and motivate Engineers to develop simple solutions to oftentimes complex problems
- Leverage interpersonal and negotiations skills to bring groups together, build bridges, organize large technical projects, and manage various opinions and interests
- Own your team's deliverable and help ensure that LogMeIn ships scalable, highly available products that continue to delight new and existing customers
- Contribute to hands-on coding/development work when/if necessary; be a leader by example
Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on Web engineering experience in an Agile development environment; including, 3-5 years in Engineering management
- Development of consumer-facing SPA eCommerce/Web Applications; preferably in a similar scale Software as a Service (SaaS) company
- Advanced-level skills and knowledge in modern Web technologies tech stack, (e.g. JavaScript, React, Redux, TypeScript, etc.); preferably in a Microsoft Azure Cloud ecosystem, (Inc. Kubernetes, etc.)
- Excellent communications, team building and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related preferred
- Occasional travel to Boston, MA, (~1x per Quarter)
