JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION

Responsible for building and maintaining automated valuation models (AVMs) and associated analytics within Black Knight’s Data and Analytics Division. Creates, develops and programs mathematical models of real estate valuations, trends and risks. Uses classical statistical and machine learning methodologies with multiple public and proprietary data sources to develop AVMs for the residential real estate market

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for building, analyzing, testing and calibrating AVMs.
  • Responsible for designing and executing model performance monitoring requirements for AVMs.
  • Designs test cases and test applications for AVM production systems to ensure business needs are met and all models and analytics are correctly implemented.
  • Works closely with the Product Management and Software Engineering teams on the product development of AVMs.
  • Provides occasional support to Sales and consulting to clients using these products.
  • ... Performs ad hoc analyses as needed and assists product lines managers with analytical projects.
  • Partners with business line managers to research industry best practices and provide thought leadership in real estate analytics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Master’s degree is preferred, PhD is a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in AVM modeling and with major AVM products is a plus
  • Experience working with a big data platform, including business intelligence and reporting functionality, is a plus
  • Working experience in financial institutions and the mortgage or real estate industries is a plus

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Extensive knowledge of statistics and data science, including machine learning, as well as the behavior of residential real estate market markets
  • Knowledge of real estate, mortgage and economic data
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R and C#
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply these to practical applications
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems, assimilate information rapidly and work under time constraints
  • Team player with the willingness to collaborate with other technical and non-technical partners
  • Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills
