UW-IT is the central IT organization for the University of Washington, providing technology solutions to all three campuses, UW medical centers and global research operations. Further, UW-IT provides strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the UW's IT infrastructure, resources, and services. UW-IT collaborates with University partners to advance teaching, learning, innovation and discovery at the UW.
UW Finance Transformation Technical (FTT) is a newly established program that will support the UW-IT... work on Finance Transformation, the University's large scale project to modernize its finance operations, business systems, and processes. FTT is currently looking for a Resource Manager who will support the UW-IT work on Finance Transformation.
This role is a critical team member who will help shape the direction, planning and resourcing activities to drive an efficient and effective program. This role will be the primary supervisor for resources assigned to matrixed workstreams in support of the FTT program. Manage and develop technology skills planning, technical resource allocation, team building, and professional development. The position is the intake for new hires, responsible for onboarding new team members, introducing them to the program, and providing training on current business processes and teams they will be supporting. Additionally, this position will need to develop and refine the onboarding process and material as the program progresses. This position will report to the program director.
This position requires an experienced manager to support the FTT program currently in the early stages of an enterprise-wide initiative to replace the existing financial systems with a modern, integrated system that will provide functionality to support UW finance needs. The outcome of FTT will be highly visible at all levels of the university and the state.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position leads, manages and contributes to work in a collaborative team environment, supported through a shared working environment, scheduled and ad hoc meetings, and the use of a variety of development and communication tools. The incumbent may need to respond to staffing requirements for service incidents, outages, service or project needs, and respond to customer questions on a priority/urgency basis. The incumbent may need to work varied hours to meet priority project milestones and other externally imposed deadlines and to accomplish work assignments on which the activities of others depend. Occasional travel may be required.
Work in an open office environment. This position involves responsibilities and occasional situations where work outside of standard business hours is required to respond to incidents or to meet critical deadlines. Work in an open office environment.
This position on the Finance Transformation Project is temporarily funded; continued employment is contingent on ongoing funding and performance.
This is an essential position and is required to report to work remotely when UW suspends operations.
This position is eligible for flexible remote work by approval.
