Responsibilities

As Managing Director, DC Real Estate Solutions you will advance Principal Real Estate Investors as a key provider of solutions to the Defined Contribution market, particularly in the area of private real estate.

Day to day:

  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities both independently and alongside other marketing and distribution team members.
  • Develop and support relationships with select consultants and other third party advisors working with DC sponsors to advise on manager and solution selection.
  • Represent Principal as a key industry voice in helping to advance education, sponsor advocacy, and share best practices through participation in industry organizations and events.
  • Direct internal efforts to further... develop and support private real estate investment solutions for the DC market.
  • Source, develop, and maintain relationships and initiate dialogue with internal/external and prospective/existing clients, investors and other market constituents.
  • Partner with sales and marketing staff to aid in the identification and development of new opportunities.

Success in this position requires a risk-adjusted return mentality, the ability to think strategically, market effectively, build strong client and consultant relationships, and manage large, complex transactions while making timely and effective investment decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field; preferably real estate emphasis; plus at least 10 years of related experience in real estate investment management.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Proven record of skills demonstrating knowledge of defined contribution plans and real estate investment management. Demonstrated strong understanding of economics, investment theories, and their application to real estate investment strategy and philosophy.
  • Extensive travel is required.
  • Must maintain fiduciary role in accordance with client mandate and PFG policies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline driven environment while managing multiple priorities is essential.
