We are looking for a Strategy & Optimisation Lead to join our growing fraud prevention team, passionate about using data insights to prevent fraud and help the business to grow, in a safe and scalable way. As part of the Payments team, you will help craft and deliver our global fraud strategy.

You will work with a global team of world-class analysts, data scientists, business managers, product managers and engineers. What You'll Do:

  • Develop in depth knowledge of Spotify’s data sources, user behaviour and payment systems to gain insights into fraud patterns and build on the fraud strategy.
  • Provide Fraud subject matter expertise on new market, payment method and product launches to ensure fraud mitigation requirements are met.
  • Own and maintain operational processes and systems to ensure delivery of a robust fraud prevention strategy.
  • Define and monitor key metrics, understanding the root causes of fraud.
  • Anticipate risks, build business cases and inspire change to close gaps, ensuring residual risks are communicated optimally.
  • Build relationships and work closely with Spotify’s Engineering, Product and Analytics teams to inspire changes to data sources and systems that are vital to deliver on the fraud strategy.
  • Support the Fraud team in developing the operating model, taking account of current and future threats.
  • Work from anywhere in EMEA, with occasional travel to our offices in London, Stockholm and New York.

Who You Are:

  • 6+ years experience in a fraud management role, preferably in at least one e-commerce or payments organisation.
  • Expert knowledge of fraud, financial crime and regulatory changes across payments and e-commerce.
  • Proficiency working with market known fraud detection and ML systems.
  • Experience working with technology teams to design and implement fraud solutions.
  • An independent problem solver, able to work autonomously, capable of taking on loosely defined problems and translating complex thinking into practical application for diverse audiences.
  • A communicative person who values building strong relationships with colleagues and partners and enjoys mentoring and sharing their experience with others.
  • A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative field is a plus.
  • Experience manipulating and analysing complex data with SQL or Google Big Query is a plus.
