Overview
The American Arbitration Association (AAA), the leading provider of alternative dispute resolution services, seeks a Case Counsel to join its International Centre of Dispute Resolution (ICDR). The ICDR is the AAA's international division and the world's leading provider of dispute resolution services to businesses in matters involving cross-border transactions. The Case Counsel manages international arbitration cases and assists with developing and promoting the ICDR services.
The ideal candidate must have access to a private Wi-Fi network and telework using an AAA-issued laptop temporarily until our headquarters in New York City reopens this summer.

Responsibilities
The selected candidate will possess a broad negotiation, active listening, communication (verbal/written), and critical thinking skill set including general corporate, not-for-profit, or other organizational experience, with a demonstrated ability to interact and work with individuals at all levels internally and externally. Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in business, legal, or related discipline; 3 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Juris Doctorate (JD) or Masters of Law (LL.M.) preferred.
Communications Abilities: (Verbal) Expresses oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others; tailors speech to the level and experience of the audience; uses appropriate grammar and choice of words; expresses ideas in a concise, organized manner; maintains eye contact when speaking with others; (Written) Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in writing; tailors written communications to effectively reach an audience; uses graphics and other aids to clarify complex or technical information; spells correctly; writes using concrete, specific language; uses punctuation correctly; writes grammatically.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal files, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and business correspondence; ability to speak effectively, both in person and by telephone, to customers, arbitrators, mediators or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to understand and interpret statistical reports, data charts and graphs.
Software Skills: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word
