Intermediate Highway Design Engineer

We are currently looking for an Intermediate Highway Design Engineer for our expanding Roads and Highways Division in Montreal. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer, to join a dynamic team and work on both conventional and Design-Build large scale transportation projects to be constructed in different Canadian provinces. Working with this close-knit team of engineers and supported by a 3D modeling team with the latest technology, the successful candidate will perform a range of design and project management tasks related to the road engineering department.

The successful candidate can work either from home or our downtown Montreal office... location.

Responsibilities:

• Performing the geometric design of safety elements as well as drainage for road projects;
• Ensure that the design complies with the applicable regulations;
• Prepare and update reports, technical notes and specifications;
• Participate in the preparation of documentation and cost estimates;
• Contribute to the preparation of bidding documents;
• Ensure coordination with other relevant disciplines;
• Ensure constructability.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering ;
• 7 + years’ experience in road design;
• Active member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
• Good knowledge of the standards of the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ);
• Good knowledge of the standards of the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC);
• Certifications from the Ministère des Transports du Québec and/or the Association Québécoise des Transports Routiers (AQTR) would be an asset (STC 101, 102 and 201);
• Good knowledge of AutoCad and/or MicroStation;
• Mastery of MS Office software;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
