OPPORTUNITY

Mammoth Biosciences is looking for a patent agent with a technical background in a CRISPR-relevant field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with VP of IP and outside counsel to prepare and prosecute patent applications
• Provide technical and patent research and analysis
• Contribute to patent prosecution strategy
• Conduct patent landscape/freedom to operate analysis
• Interact with research and development team to identify new intellectual property and secure protection on existing inventions
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree (masters or above) in a CRISPR-relevant field such as molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, biophysics or the like
• US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registration (or ability to become registered within 3 months of start date)
• Bench or patent prosecution experience with genome editing technology
• 6 months of experience drafting and prosecuting patents before the USPTO

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ph.D. and/or post-doctoral research in a CRISPR-relevant field such as molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, biophysics or the like
• 1+ year US patent prosecution experience
• USPTO registration number
• Strong communication and follow-up skills
• Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
• Ability to drive projects with little guidance or direction
• Preference for local candidates; remote work option will be considered
