Job Description Princeton Hydro is seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer with expertise in water resources, civil engineering, and/or geotechnical/structural engineering with a solid overall understanding of civil and environmental engineering disciplines and a proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects. Founded in 1998 with the specific mission of providing integrated ecological and engineering consulting services, Princeton Hydro offers expertise in natural resource management, water resources engineering, geotechnical design & investigation and regulatory compliance. Qualifications in several of the following disciplines is desired: water resources management, ecosystem restoration, flood risk management, coastal protection, navigation projects, dam safety, geotechnical/structural analysis and design, experience preparing design/project... documentation reports, preparation of complex comprehensive federal agency design submissions (i.e., plans, specifications, basis of design documents, studies, etc.). Additionally, the ideal candidates will have routine experience managing projects with design fees upwards of $1 million, often serving as the direct point-of-contact with the client, and having overall or progressive responsibility for all aspects of the project. The position will be based in either Princeton Hydro's Ringoes or Sicklerville office to support the growth of our firm’s growing business with Federal agencies. The successful candidate must be passionate about ecosystem restoration of all kinds, and a love working on engineering solutions, regardless of the project type. A knack for understanding the nuances of natural systems when designing a project, as well as the strict disciplinary requirements of engineering theory, standards, regulation, and code is an essential, desired skill set. Project types will include dam restoration, dam removal, dredging, inland and coastal wetlands/marsh restoration, stormwater management, stream and floodplain restoration, and levee inspection and design, among other types of projects. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful team player who enjoys collaboration across interdisciplinary teams with biologists, ecologists, fluvial geomorphologists, geologists, and engineers. MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, or Bioenvironmental Engineering from ABET accredited university The ability to obtain a Professional Engineer license for Senior Project Manager candidates in the states of NY, NJ, PA, and/or MD in a relatively short period of time; For junior candidates, an EIT certificate on track to earn PE in near future Ability to manage specific projects/tasks at the direction of Princeton Hydro’s Practice Area Leaders Minimum of 5-years’ experience working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers policies and practices, with a minimum of expertise of one of the tools listed below under “Desired Skills & Experience” for Federal A/E design Ability to work on proposals, conceptual plans, and general cost estimates for planned future work Ability to oversee junior engineering staff including QA/QC of work products and day-to-day schedule management/timesheet review Scheduling in Microsoft Project Direct experience in the NEPA process Knowledge of state, federal, and regional regulatory compliance related to ecosystem restoration throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region is a plus Strong organizational, research, and technical writing skills are required Ability to work in team settings as well as independently with minimal supervision and direction Ensuring the highest level of services for our clients is a must DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Multiple skills to complete Federal A/E design including: MicroStation CAD standards, MACACES (MII) cost estimating, levee design standards, Dr. Checks, quality control standards, and Engineering Manual standards AutoCAD, including Civil 3D Geographic Information Systems/ArcGIS software H&H computer models, including HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS Experience in Total Station and/or GPS surveying Princeton Hydro is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers work from home flexibility, a base salary commensurate with experience, health insurance, 401K retirement, and paid vacations and personal time off.
