About the Associate Director, Digital Shelf role:

This is a new role, initially focusing on one of our enterprise clients. Reporting to the Director of Content, this individual will play a crucial role in the day to day management of new and existing strategies to drive best-in-class content across multiple platforms, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, CVS and several other e-retailers. The Associate Director, Digital Shelf will act as the main point of contact for a high-priority client, as well as lead a team of 3-5 digital shelf experts. This individual will also lead the implementation of the client’s content syndication platforms, such as Salsify and Syndigo. In addition to the technical experience required, excellent project management skills as well as poise, confidence and strategic thinking go a long way in this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own client communication, strategy, objectives, and deliverables for a high-priority client’s eCommerce content - this role will... own the client’s content practice from start to finish
  • Develop short-term and long-term objectives aimed at helping this client reach digital shelf maturity for various eretailers, such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, CVS, Costco, Kroger, and more
  • Communicate with and present to our client regularly, including proactive updates and recommendations
  • Spearhead content recommendations and best practice strategies that take content to the next level
  • Lead their content team of 3-5 individuals to be accountable, collaborative partners to our client and the rest of the organization
  • Manage the team through change; scale and set the team up to be successful and supportive as they grow
  • Oversee workflow and project plans to ensure deadlines are met and quality of work is high
  • Oversee scope of work and identify resource needs to deliver on project plans
  • Build, implement, and optimize content syndication best practices utilizing Salsify, Syndigo, or similar 3rd party platforms
  • Own relationship and act as main point of contact for content syndication platform partners
  • Develop content reporting that effectively communicates the value and effectiveness of content excellence
  • Ensure best-in-class content is maintained across all eretailer product pages
  • Collaborate with internal teams on SEO content strategy utilizing top keywords
  • Keep both client and agency teams accountable for meeting content deadlines

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience working with eCommerce sites
  • Experience with or in marketing agencies, demonstrating an understanding of the high levels of service and responsiveness required
  • eCommerce retail fundamentals knowledge (new item set-up, ASINs/SKUs, Vendor Central vs. Seller Central, operations, flywheel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proven track record for delivering results and rising to overcome challenges, both known and unforeseen
  • Product experience - particularly CPG
  • Must be comfortable with the learning curve/constant change that comes with operating in a fast-moving, ever-changing world of eCommerce
  • Must have a dedicated office at home or elsewhere with access to secure high-speed internet and phone, and sufficient space for two monitors. This is not a job that can be done at a coffee shop or while traveling (appropriate equipment will be provided).
  • Travel may be required to several trade shows per year and client meetings as needed
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
