Galen College is looking for a Student Support Liaison Manager to provide leadership to Student Support Liaisons, coordinate workflow within the team, and assist the online leadership team and faculty in all areas related to student support. This position will collaborate with members of the student success department, as appropriate, to provide access and support for online students. The Student Support Liaison Manager will also function as a member of the liaison team, in a part-time capacity. Responsibilities include meeting with operations, academics, and liaisons in order to assist in providing timely and effective interventions to augment and support the success of students, retention, and completion.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate the Student Support Liaisons to ensure the achievement of the department’s goals; manage day-to-day operations within the team.
  • Execute and participate in student success department meetings at the campus and college level.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate online student success department services in order to promote student success, retention, and completion.
  • Coordinate new student orientation with campus leadership, liaisons, and operations team members.
  • Use data and analyze reports and survey results to identify issues affecting student success; monitor attrition, retention, and completion statistics to identify student trends, and collaborate with campus leadership, campus committees, liaisons, and faculty to develop, guide, implement, and evaluate interventions to improve student success and the delivery of student support resources.
  • Monitor, document, and submit reports in narrative, statistical, oral, and written formats regarding services offered, as requested.
  • Coordinate with academics regarding the utilization and documentation of online student support services provided.
  • Provide leadership to Student Support Liaisons and coordinate workflow within the department.
  • May be assigned up to a 50% student success case load and fulfill all the duties of the Student Support Liaison position.
  • Attend program team meetings and ensure consistent communication with program leadership.
  • Work closely with the enrollment team, academic leaders, faculty, and liaisons to ensure that student support needs are being met.
  • Submit an annual summary of student retention and completion, evaluation of current strategies, and document strategies for the next academic year.
  • Screen and coordinate team interviews for new hires. Make recommendations for new hires to academic leadership
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for creation and revisions of advising policies and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with college policies and processes and relevant accrediting and regulatory agency guidelines related to student support.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree required, in related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the education.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in college or academic setting preferred.

Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Word, Student Information and Learning Management Systems. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be technically proficient.

Special Qualifications: Two (2) or more years of successful college student services experience a plus. Background in customer service is preferred.

Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment: Position requires mental activity, reading, planning, preparing, evaluating, and decision making. Physical demands in classroom and office are minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as records, files, and books (10 pounds maximum). Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, classroom projector, Scantron, and printer/scanner, occurs on a frequent basis.

Travel may be required.
