Product Analyst (Remote)

The Product Analyst (PA) works with Research Material Management (RMM) software development team members to design, develop, and test software functionality.

The PA analyzes clients’ business challenges and helps the RMM team design and develop new... product functionality and enhance current functionality to solve those challenges. This includes gathering and creating business and functional requirements for use by the development team. The PA also helps to determine the acceptance criteria the software must meet before delivery to clients. This includes verifying functional behavior conforms to initial design, testing software before release and ensuring the resolution of detected defects.

Additionally, the PA will assist in writing documentation to help both internal and external clients adopt and use the software.
Principal Responsibilities

• Prepare and document product requirements and contributes requirements knowledge and expertise to the full life cycle of product development. Activities include writing design documents, answering product requirement questions from developers and quality assurance staff and assisting with definition and execution of use case scenarios during software testing.
• Maintain detailed understanding of client business processes, problems, and desired solutions
• Define and document business scenarios for new functionality
• Participate in focus groups by presenting new functionality to clients and gathering feedback
• Use software prototyping tools to create mockups of software functionality to guide development.
• Write and execute product test plans and test scripts
• Assists with preparation of product release notes, release review and other release related documentation
• Engage stakeholders across the business unit to provide information and training specific to product development
• Ensure the quality, reliability and completeness of software

Position Requirements

• Two plus years of experience in gathering/creating business requirements and creating functional requirements to be used by software development teams.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Experience in software testing
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Knowledge of SQL a plus
• Position is fully remote (however location in Philadelphia area a plus)
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Bachelor's degree or related experience preferred
