Design solutions so that requirements are met in agreement with corporate network security guidelines
Create technical service documentation
Create network change requests to meet the requirements of the application
Troubleshoot end to end network and application connectivity through packet tracing and routing analysis on Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and AWS firewalls.
Develop firewall rules for new application installs or application updates
Document rules and submit through firewall provisioning process
Monitor system resource... utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
Tier 2 (or higher) level experience with Checkpoint Firewalls and SmartConsole R77
Experience working with AWS/Azure Cloud based services is required
Firm knowledge of LAN and SAN Concepts
Firm understanding of network security policies and concepts
In-depth experience using application and network troubleshooting tools (log analysis, tcpdump, Wireshark, etc)
Ability to read and evaluate complex network diagrams and communication paths
Knowledge of firewalls and firewall configuration
Knowledge of application usage of ports/protocols - Understanding of data center firewall topology and communication paths
Understanding data center security policies
Experience in developing firewall rule sets
Understanding of network security, including IPS.
Knowledge of Cisco, Check Point, AWS and Palo Alto firewalls, preferably in both physical and virtual environments.
Understanding of WAN routing and connectivity, including MPLS and VPN.
Experience working with Linux and Windows server, including Active Directory and DNS
