As a Front-End Developer, you will use CSS/Sass, vanilla JavaScript, Node, and React to implement and maintain an accessible, world-class interactive experience. You will be creative and resourceful while adhering to coding and documentation standards that lay the groundwork for high-velocity distributed development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Determine optimal front-end development direction... based on project requirements
  • Turn interface designs into functional themed components
  • Design, develop, and implement shared design components with other designers and developers to use across the digital product portfolio
  • Work with and integrate front-end frameworks like React.js
  • Ensure proper approach, best-practice application, and correct separation of presentation code from business logic
  • Support revenue team with advertising campaigns, tags and technology
  • Define and enforce organizational front-end coding standards, and perform code reviews
  • Create prototypes that communicate desired features and functionality
  • Implement and support build processes and test environments
  • Provide project and task estimates
  • Work with team to discuss project status and long-term roadmap strategies
  • Keep informed and provide thought leadership on emerging interactive design, front-end technologies, frameworks, best practices, and usability trends
  • 3+ years of front-end focused web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) including responsive mobile-first development and familiarity with cross-browser compatibility
  • Experience with a CSS preprocessor (Sass)
  • Experience coding to WCAG standards
  • Extensive experience with modular ES6+ Javascript, including both importing dependencies via NPM, and writing custom modules
  • Experience constructing and supporting custom CLI build processes in NPM
  • Experience with modern Javascript client-side frameworks (React)
  • Experience working with and integrating advertising and ad technology
  • In-depth knowledge of interactive design techniques via JavaScript, CSS animation, and use of vector graphics
  • Experience with layout grid frameworks (eg. Bourbon Neat, Bootstrap)
  • Experience with back-end integration in the form of both server-side (PHP) and client-side templating
  • Experience interfacing with RESTful APIs, including a solid understanding of JavaScript
  • Experience with Drupal/Acquia
  • Demonstrated knowledge of client-side performance analysis and optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with Google AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) initiative
  • Strong understanding of mobile browser capabilities
  • Strong communication skills, adept at describing designs and functional intent to distributed stakeholders and teams
