This Role:

As the Senior UI/UX Designer at Avochato, you will architect the entire user experience of the Avochato platform -- a cloud-based Customer Experience platform. You will be stepping into a feature-rich, high traffic web application that allows over a thousand businesses use to organize and engage in live, two-way conversations with millions of contacts every day: actively improving the customer experience of an app designed to improve Customer Experience.

We need you to help us upgrade and simplify the pathways for new users to begin using our app on mobile and desktop, discover and grow power features, and imagine the next generation of intuitive interactions. The end-users of your handiwork won't be anonymous -- Avochato users are passionate and vocal. Internally, our teams use Avochato to talk and text directly with new customers as well as the existing Avochato community: you will be designing the way your fellow teammates use our software every day to manage those personal and rich interactions.

This position reports to the CTO and requires high engagement with our existing product and engineering team to execute your vision, as well as collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect an uncompromising user experience for the Avochato web and mobile applications.
  • Work with Product and engineering to design features and marketing collateral to optimize KPIs including paid customer conversions, feature discovery, feature engagement, and customer retention
  • Develop the framework for uniform interactions and design patterns across the Avochato platform
  • Produce interactive wireframes and mock-ups for the Engineering team to consume
  • Participate in iterative product development to design new features
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop a deep understanding of Avochato's existing features and capabilities, and the changes that need to be made to improve the user experience based on KPIs
  • Collaborate with the Customer Success team to identify existing pain points for users and eliminate anti-patterns
  • Guide the visual and tactile consistency of Avochato interfaces, landing pages, and apps through style guidelines and color palettes

Requirements:

  • 8+ years experience designing user interfaces for web and mobile applications
  • 2+ years of designing and iterating on user-facing instant messaging or inbox applications
  • Up-to-date familiarity with native one-on-one messaging applications and usage-patterns (iMessage, Android Messages, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger)
  • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role shipping and supporting user-facing products
  • Portfolio of design projects
  • Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design software and design collaboration software
  • Exemplary communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders, experience collaborating remotely
  • Exemplary time-management skills
  • BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5+ years designing user-facing instant messaging, live chat, and/or CRM applications
  • Experience owning the design direction for a production application over multiple years
